Create Paypal Payment Buttons

A Paypal button can be used on your website to take paypal for either a one off purchase/product or a subscription purchase such as monthly payments for a service you provide.

Paypal provides some code/link once you have created your buttons. This code/link can be sent to us so we can insert it into your pages or you can insert it yourself.

Before you create a Paypal button/s you will need a free paypal business account. Click the link below to create your free Business account. Don’t forget to select ‘Business’

Login to your Paypal account

 

  1. From the menu Tools/All Tools
  2. Select ‘Paypal buttons’
  3. Under Business Tools heading click ‘My Business set up’
  4. Expand Option B then click ‘Create a payment button’
  5. Select ‘On your Website’ as payment option if not already selected

Create Buy Now button

This button can be used for one off payments such as a product or service

 

  1. Look for the ‘Sample Buy Now Button’
  2. Click Action/Edit button
  3. Rename it
  4. Add your price
  5. Press ‘Save’
  6. The next screen will present the code you need to insert into your web page that will give you a button customers can click on. Alternatively you can send an email link to your customers. You can also the email link to create a link from your web pages without using the Paypal button. The choice is yours.

 

Create Subscription button

This button can be used for regular payment such as a monthly service

  1. Look for the ‘Sample Subscription Button’
  2. Click Action/Edit button
  3. Rename it
  4. Add your price
  5. Select the Billing Cycle such as Monthly or Yearly
  6. Press ‘Save’
  7. As above you will be presented with the code you need to insert into your web pages and/or email link to send customers to or create a link to your subscription package.
  8. Optional: You can insert a link/button to allow your customers to unsubscribe from your subscriptions

 

Create a payment link to a blank description and price box

This is useful if you wish to allow your customers to pay for something with a variable price. The description can be used for a ref/Invoice no and the price for the price you quote them

 

  1. Login to your Business account
  2. Select from Menu More/ Business setup
  3. Select ‘On your Website’ as payment option if not already selected
  4. Select ‘Process all payments…” option. Press ‘Continue’
  5. Expand Option B then click ‘Create a payment button’
  6. Leave as ‘Buy now’
  7. Leave ‘Item Name’ and ‘Price’ blank
  8. Do not change any other options. Press ‘Create button’
  9. Select the Email tab to see the link
  10. You can now Copy this link and paste/use it any way you like eg in an email or on your website
  11. Click ‘my saved buttons’ to see the newly created button listed with blank Item Name
  12. Click ‘Back To My Profile’

 

Note: You CANNOT add a logo to the page above but you can to the checkout pages as below

Add your logo to your checkout page

Ensure Logo is 190 x 60 pixels max size and uploaded to your website to get a url you can use as your Logo. You cannot upload your Logo.

 

  1. Tools/All Tools
  2. Click Paypal Buttons
  3. Click ‘Manage Checkout Page styles’ in right menu
  4. Click Add
  5. Type in a name
  6. Enter URL to Logo
  7. Enter Colour for Gradient and Border colour only
  8. Press Save
