All customers who point their domain name/s to the Wrap up Web nameservers receive a free Secure Sockets Layer(SSL) Certificate for their website and all its sub domains.
However, in some cases a business or organisation will either not want to or is unable to point their domain name/s to the Wrap up Web nameservers, instead pointing the domain name/s DNS entry A Record to our IP Address.
In this case the customer has two choices.
- Provide an external SSL Certificate of their own that they can connect to.
- Purchase a SSL certificate from Wrap up Web
The instructions below guide you through through Option 2.
VERY IMPORTANT: Please read the following BEFORE purchasing or renewing a SSL Certificate provided by Wrap up Web.
A newly purchased SSL Certificate or the annual renewal of a certificate purchased from Wrap up Web will need to be verified via email AFTER purchase or renewal.
Without email verification the SSL Certificate will not be valid. After you have purchased a certificate for the first time or paid for the renewal of the SSL Certificate, the SSL Certficate then needs to be verified.
SSL Certificate verification is completed via an email, which is automatically sent to admin@yourdomainname.com after you have purchased for the first time or paid for annual renewal.
For example: if your domain is liverpoolbuilder.co.uk the authorisation email will automatically be sent to admin@liverpoolbuilder.co.uk
If a SSL Cerificate is not verified via email, the SSL certificate will not connect to your website domain name.
The verification email sent to admin@yourdomainname.com must be responded to within 15 days or SSL Certificate verification will fail.
If this email address does not exist or it is not responded to again SSL verification will fail.
The admin@yourdomainname.com verification email is automatically generated and sent as part of the SSL Certificate verification process so unfortunately it cannot be changed to any other email address such as info@ or enquiries@ etc.
BEFORE Purchasing or annually Renewing a SSL Certificate please ensure, someone in your business or organisation is able to receive and act upon the SSL verification email when it is sent to admin@yourdomainname.com
To purchase an SSL certificate please follow the follow the instructions below.
For demonstration purposes we will use the example domain name mydomain.com

If any SSL certificates are not renewed on an annual basis they will not work for your domain name.
To ensure annual renewal is maintained, firstly ensure you have a card Payment Method in your account then secondly head to ‘Renewals’ (under the ‘Your Account’ heading) and set the SSL Certificate to automatically renew using the selected Bank Card Payment Method you have in your account.
When will my newly purchased SSL Certificate work with my domain name?
Once verified via email the SSL Certificate should begin to work with the domain name within 2 – 12 hrs hours.
