GPX (Map) File Website Use

Converting a GPX file into a flat PNG image you can insert into your website

 

  1. Visit https://www.gpsvisualizer.com/
  2. Upload your GPX file
  3. Select ‘PNG map’
  4. Click the ‘Map it’ button
  5. Click the ‘download’ link
  6. Save the PNG file to your device
  7. Embed the PNG image in your website as required

 

Converting a GPX file to a publicly available interactive Google map link that you can use on your website 

 

  1. Visit https://mymaps.google.com/
  2. Login to a Google account
  3. Press the ‘+Create a new map’ button
  4. Click Import
  5. Select your GPX file and wait for the upload
  6. Click the ”Share’ icon
  7. Give your map a Title and a Description and press OK
  8. Enable ‘Anyone with this link can view’ to make the link publicly available
  9. Disable ‘Let others see your name and photo on this map’ (optional) 
  10. Copy the link given and paste it somewhere you can retrieve it later 
  11. When ready paste the link on your website where required
